International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH) President Santiago Garcia Milà delivered his maiden speech at IMO headquarters this week calling for closer cooperation between various port-related organizations. The port community is currently represented in IMO through various organizations, including port authorities, cargo handling companies, harbor masters, maritime pilots, port community systems, ship agents and port police.

‘’IATA, on behalf of its 290 global airline members, is disappointed in the outcome of the RED II trilogue today. A major opportunity has been lost for Europe to create a regulatory framework to encourage the production of sustainable aviation fuels (SAF)," said Rafael Schvartzman, IATA’s Regional Vice President for Europe.

A long established staple in the event calendar of every maritime industry stakeholder in the Baltic Sea region – the Baltic Ports Conference – will take place on 6-7 September 2018 in Szczecin, Poland.

Project EMMA, funded by the Interreg Baltic Sea Region Programme 2014–2020, has actively contributed to raising the awareness of the potential of inland navigation and giving inland waterway transport a stronger voice and better standing in policy and society.
