The bulk sector is navigating its way out of the doldrums but market correction has come at a price, delegates attending Bulk Terminals 2018 learned last week.

Leading commercial law firm Hill Dickinson has appointed two senior hires to join its Hong Kong office. Counsel and registered foreign lawyer Edward Liu and Counsel Antony Cowie both joined on 22 October 2018.

Plans for further expansion in the Far East Market

Imperial Logistics International has signed a cooperation agreement with newly-formed freight charterer Rijnmond Logistics, in which the latter will provide chartered barge capacity in the Netherlands and Germany.

For the fourth year in a row, seaports of Ukraine have improved their positions in the Global Competitiveness Report 2018, compiled according to the World Economic Forum methodology. The port services and infrastructure of Ukraine received a score of 3.5 points in the latest version of the report, published on the WEF website in October 2018, and according to this indicator, our country ranked 77th.

The ports of Tallinn and Helsinki together with the City of Helsinki and the passenger ship operators Tallink, Viking Line and Eckerö Line obtained EUR 21.4 million EU funding within the 2017 CEF Transport Blending Call for proposals for financing their infrastructure investments. The total cost of the planned investments is EUR 71.2 million.
