On the 4th – 5th of July 2013 the V International Forum «Sea Tourism» will be held in Saint-Petersburg within the framework of the «UNITED RUSSIA» Party Project «Saint-Petersburg – the Sea Capital of Russia».


2012 was significant for tourism owning to sector’s transition under the Ministry of Culture authority. Within a new course based on cultural, historical and natural heritage of Russia there is a state programme «Cultural and tourism development» designed. The Results of this programme implementing should be turning tourism and culture to the most attractive sphere of business activity.


For these goals to achieve in sphere of sea tourism there are a number of issues to solve that are connected with renovation of passenger fleet and coastal infrastructure. This requires serious investment to attract. Not less important is an issue of improving the quality of service and services accordance with international standards. Serious attention should be paid to issues of popularization of sea tourism. Nowadays there is an urgent need to create a separate bill on incoming and inbound tourism for these directions to regulate on the state level.


Owning to what was said above the main topics of the business programme of the Forum are to be: improving legislation that regulates touristic sphere and passenger navigation; improving services quality in sea tourism; modernization of passenger fleet and sea and river infrastructure; developing state-private partnership; ways, measures and technologies to promote cruise and yacht tourism in Russia and abroad; safety insurance and others.
There are regional projects of Russian touristic sphere development to be displayed in the Forum.


The Forum «Sea Tourism» will be supported and participated by Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, Federal Agency for Tourism, Federal Agency for Marine and River Transport, Federal Agency for the Development of State Border Infrastructure and others. It is expected that executive and judicial powers from 40 Russian regions, as well as embassies and consulate of the neighboring countries and far abroad. The Forum will be resulted in resolution with proposals and recommendations which will be directed to the profile committees of the Upper and Lower Chambers of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, ministries and agencies, Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, Open Government in order to improve the legislative base and the system of state regulation of sea tourism.

Among the invited to participate in the Event there are tour operators of sea and river cruises, ship-owners, shipbuilders, yacht-clubs, investment and insurance companies, banks, sea and river passenger ports, building companies, project institutions, developers and constructors of navigation equipment, operators of satellite connection for sea and river vessels, consulting and marketing agencies.
