Swissport voted Ground Handler of the Year in Air Transport New Awards

GLOBAL provider of ground services to the aviation sector, Swissport International, has added another award to its growing collection after being voted Ground Handler of the Year in the inaugural Air Transport News Awards.
Readers from among ATN's 42,000 subscribers in 161 countries, plus a panel of expert judges, determined the winner of the accolade on the basis of: achievements during the last year; new products launched; most influential leader; financial performance; social responsibility and contribution to society; and innovative and entrepreneurial attributes.
Kostas Iatrou, managing director of Air Transport News, said: "The readers of ATN, many of who hold executive positions in the air transport industry, voted for over a month in the above categories. Based on the votes and the verdict of a jury of internationally known industry experts, Swissport won the 2012 ATN Award for Ground Handler of the Year."
The award was presented to Mark Skinner, senior vice president for Ground Handling EMEAA, in a ceremony held in Athens, Greece.
