February 24th, the Skylark day, the day of the war in Ukraine. Today is the 4th anniversary of the war. 

The old Europeans believed that birds bring back the warmth of spring
on their wings. At the same time, they bring salvation from hunger,
cold and deprivation. Followed by joy and hope. The memory of the
ancient days still lives in the Lithuanian ethnic culture: the traditional
calendar marks the day when skylarks return as the beginning of spring.
The Skylark Day is on 24 February.
24 February 2022 marked the beginning of a war. Russia attacked
Ukraine, which continues to defend itself.
I started painting the Skylark Day one the first day of the war and it was
completed on the tenth. What this painting communicates is that my
heart is with the Ukrainian brothers and sisters defending their home.
I started my second painting then the third picture...
Thus The Skylark Day triptych is born.
