Taiwan's EVA Air unveils digital virus testing programme

2021 07 20

TAIWAN's Evergreen Airways (EVA) has launched a digital platform for passengers to upload Covid crisis test results and proof of vaccination, reports Taipei Times.

Instead of showing a negative test result, passengers can upload the QR code of their negative test for the airline to verify.

"With the new system, the procedure of examining passengers' PCR test results will be streamlined, and unnecessary physical contact between crew and passengers can be avoided," said EVA.

Digital Covid crisis information is expected to play a large role in international air travel, with many countries requesting test reports and proof of vaccination before boarding.

EVA Air's cumulative revenue for the first five months of the year fell 16 per cent year on year to US$1.29 billion.
