Roma Stubrienė
Director of Klaipeda Science and Technologies Park

An International Baltic innovation forum is organised on 9-15 May this year in Klaipeda University and Klaipeda Science and Technologies Park (KSTP) to mark the Day of Europe (May 9) and Maritime Day of Europe (May 20).
Exhibition of virtual marine technologies and innovations will be organised during the event.

Subject - technologies and innovations

The exhibition is an item of the event dedicated to the Day of Europe and a compound part of the events dedicated to the Maritime Day of Europe.

It will start on the 9th of May and last till May 16.

On the 15th of May international conference Baltic marine innovations forum and international awards Windrose will take place.

The companies, institutions and private persons working in the field of maritime industry, politics and culture will be able to take part in the exhibition. The participants of the exhibition will also be the nominees of international award Windrose.

It is important that each participant of the exhibition submitted innovative Project, could present it interestingly and figuratively. The main subject of the conference is technologies and innovations in maritime sector, therefore, we chose technologically new way of the organisation of the exhibition – a virtual exhibition. It is a rather interesting, innovative and financially friendly way of presenting oneself. The participants of the exhibition do not need to invest into stands; it is enough for them to submit visual material presenting the activities of the company.

Visual material submitted by the participants of the exhibition will be accessible at any time of the day as it will be demonstrated not only on KSTP but also on the Internet. The exhibition will be divided into five main blocks – the visitors will be able to get acquainted with the novelties in marine environment, fishery, maritime transport, sea transport & logistics, ship building & repair, energy, industrial & infrastructure projects at sea and also with maritime policy ideas and maritime creative work.

One of the main goals of the exhibition of Maritime technologies – is to induce and popularise maritime activities, propagate European maritime values and create the image of Lithuania as a maritime state.

Induce the creation of innovative products

Klaipeda – is the only city-port of Lithuania. We are to be happy that we have deep traditions of ship-building and maritime transport activities. Unfortunately, in the present innovative world it is not enough. We are to recognise that technological potential in the port-city is not used properly. In order to use the possibilities of maritime technologies Klaipeda science and business community should rally in the fields of the development of maritime innovations and managing institutions should induce the creation of innovative products.

We anticipate that the information submitted to this exhibition will help to survey the latest tendencies of the development of maritime economics and induce more rapid development of maritime technologies in Lithuania.
