Nominations Windrose 2009

The first decade after the foundation (1999) celebrating international business magazine JŪRA MOPE SEA, parted with hurricane-type Anatolius which followed it for six years and this year announces new awards.

The name of awards – is Windrose.
It is a sign, well-known to the seafarers and travellers.

The name of the awards and original symbol created following the Windrose or  compass motives is patented in the Patent Bureau of the Republic of Lithuania. 

On the 15th of May, there will take place the grand delivery ceremony of international awards Windrose as a final accent of international exhibition and conference Marine innovations forum.

We invite to participate

We invite companies, organizations, associations, scientific institutions, artistic unions and private persons to take part in a competition for the nominations of Windrose  and submit the companies, organizations, associations and persons their video presentations of the project or project descriptions with photos.

The projects can be submitted to one or several nominations according to the subjects given this year.

Nominations

For the consolidation of the image of a maritime state

The nomination will be dedicated for the input during the implementation of Lithuanian maritime interests, consolidation of the international cooperation and marketing of Lithuanian maritime achievements in the world.

Candidates to the nomination:  representatives of Lithuanian and foreign society, politicians, companies, institutions, collectives etc.

For the development of innovations in maritime business

The nomination will be dedicated for the achievements in the development of competitive maritime business, maritime progress and implementation of innovations developing maritime sector.

Candidates: maritime and industrial business companies (port, shipping, fishing, shipbuilding and ship-repair, logistics companies, recreation and tourism, energy, primary industry etc).

For scientific achievements in studying the Baltic Sea and seaside

The nomination will be dedicated for the best creation in any field of science (humanitarian, social, physical, biomedical or technologies) of maritime branch, fundamental or experimental development, project dedicated to the improvement or cognition of natural, social and economical environment.

Candidates: scientists or groups of scientists, local municipalities, non-governmental organisations etc.

For the training of maritime mentality

The nomination is dedicated for literature and pieces of popular science, performances, films, TV broadcast, art, music or other pieces of art on maritime topics.

Candidates: authors or a group of authors, artistic groups etc.

Awards

The nominees selected by the organization committee will be awarded by the diplomas and the badges of the nominees.

The laureates selected by the international valuation commission will be awarded by the diplomas of laureates and Windrose prizes.

The deadline of submitting proposals is the 1st of May.

Projects and proposals for nominations may be submitted by companies, institutions and private persons working in maritime industry, politics or cultural fields.  

The main requirement for the authors of the projects is to submit written and visual material or video presentation.

Desirable directions:

• maritime environment protection;
• aritime transport and logistics;
• aritime policy;
• nergy, industrial and infrastructure projects at sea;
• hipbuilding;
• ishery, fish farming and fish protection;
• arine culture and art and etc.

The content of the presentation of projects is to correspond one or several topical blocks. This information is to be presented in brief:

• short presentation of the project;

• characterization of a product or activity;

• echnological or innovation aspect of a product or activity;

• economical, social, political, cultural impact of a product on the development of maritime sector, strengthening of maritime image of the state and education of maritime mentality.

Presentation material is to correspond technological criteria as well (Windows media, RealMedia, DVD, DV, Flash).

Pretenders to nominations are to submit presentation material no later than the 1st of May 2009.  

We remind that the submitted project might be demonstrated during the international exhibition, including Internet too.

We expect to see you among the participants of the conference and your Project – among the nominees of the awards Windrose.
