Anatolijus – 2004 laureates have been honoured

On January 28 a festive nominees’ and laureates’ award ceremony of Anatolijus’2004 was held at Klaipeda Drama Theatre.
At the festivity where almost five hundred representatives of Lithuanian maritime and transport business gathered, members of the Parliament of the Republic of Lithuania, members of Maritime and Fishing Affairs Committee and ministers also took part.
Ten prize winners were awarded laureates’ diplomas and glass statuettes of a bollard and mooring ropes, symbolizing the binds between the sea and the earth, the fight between nature and a man in which human mind, will, and professionalism win.
The prizes were created by Viacheslav Gibovski, an artist from Kaunas. Thirty eight nominees were awarded nominees’ diplomas.

Zigmantas Balcytis, Parliament Member, Minister of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Lithuania was awarded for strategic decision to modernize the infrastructure of inland waterways, for great contribution in 2004 arriving at strategic decisions that will determine the development of transport system, improving the image of Lithuania as a transit and maritime country.

Shipping Company of the Year

The Study of Sventoji Port the leader of the study Vytautas Smailys was awarded.

Inland Waterways Transport Project of the Year
State Tourism Department under the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Lithuania was awarded for the pilot project of the Nemunas jetty infrastructure development.

Air Transport Project of the Year
SC Sportine Aviacija was awarded for perfection of Lithuanian gliders, inducing their production and sales.

The supplier of the year
SC Varitecha was awarded for reliability.
