Anatolijus

In the year 2000, initiated by the magazine JURA MOPE SEA, awards to maritime companies for their contribution into cherishing Lithuanian maritime business were founded. They were named Anatolijus after the hurricane that stormed back in those days in Europe.
The prize – a statuette of a bollard and mooring ropes - symbolizes the binds between the sea and the earth, the fight between nature and a man in which human mind, will, and professionalism win.
Latin word Anatolijus was suitable for nominations’ name, for its meaning is ‘joyous’, ‘happy’, ‘winning’, ‘a winner’.
Anatolijus laureates are the winners, who reached the highest eminence in their profession.
We were creating, growing and cherishing this prize together with the whole community of transport business.
The nominations are supposed to cover all kinds of transport, because the national transport sector governed by the Ministry of Transport and Communications makes up a single system. It functions well only when all its elements are integrated into common complex and work united.

The awards are aimed to encourage marine and transport business companies for their contribution into Lithuania’s economy, for introduction of new equipment and technology that enhance attractiveness of Lithuanian transport companies in international market; moreover awards are meant to praise the people working in this business and creating the basics of the national economy.
