Minister Eligijus Masiulis: Lithuanian transport system is to be opened to the private capital
6,9 percent of all working people in Lithuania are in transport system, and the share of the total value added created by the sector in 2008 was 12,7 percent (12733 mil Lt). The new Minister of Transport and Communications of Lithuania Eligijus Masiulis, who started working since 10th December last year, is ready for changes as well as further strengthening of transport infrastructure of the country. Milda Manomaityte talks about those plans with the Minister Eligijus Masiulis. - The President of the United States Barak Obama tries to save the country from the economic crisis by allotting 75 billion US dollars for different projects, including 48 billon US dollars allotted for transport system infrastructure. According to Obama such investments help to maintain and create jobs and give long-term economic benefit. According to experts, it is the biggest investment into American infrastructure since 1950.
