Breakbulk China Exhibition to Showcase More Specialized Logistics Providers in 2014

Thousands of project cargo and traditional breakbulk cargo logisticians from the energy, oil & gas, mining/ metals and infrastructure development sectors will gather at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center to participate in the Breakbulk China Exhibition 2014, 10-13 March 2014.

In its first year to be held at the World Expo venue, the Breakbulk China Exhibition will showcase 25% more specialized logistics providers than in 2013.  The event will provide the 5000 expected delegates with the opportunity to learn about the latest industry trends as well as develop relationships with the leading specialized carriers, freight forwarders, ports/ terminals, packers and equipment companies that have expertise in handling oversized & heavy cargoes.

Education & Professional Formation
To be held 10-11 March, the Krabbendam Heavy Lifting & Transport Master Class will provide educational opportunities for advanced students interested in growing their technical logistics expertise.  Richard Krabbendam is a globally renowned instructor with 37 years of logistics experience gleaned from his years at Jumbo Shipping & Mammoet.

In addition, the PPG Certificate in Project Forwarding will be held 10-11 March.  The Certificate in Project Forwarding is ISO accredited and has been designed to appeal to project freight forwarders seeking to fast track their skills and knowledge.  The training led by Kevin Stephens, a 40 year industry veteran, will include applied exercises and case studies.

Breakbulk Education Day, to be held 11 March, is an introduction to the breakbulk & project cargo logistics industry for students and industry freshmen.

Held in the Breakbulk China exhibition hall 12-13 March, the strategic Executive Presentations will cover key subjects from leading experts including Drewry’s 2014 Fleet Outlook, a special case study on the special handling of pipes and tubes, a look at China’s changing VAT regime, a forecast of China’s economic trajectory and more.

Business Development & Networking
The growing Breakbulk China exhibition hall will showcase 160 transportation, logistics & equipment providers that offer specialized expertise in handling oversized, heavy & out-of-gauge cargoes.  Additional networking activities include a Welcome Reception in the Exhibition Hall (12 March), the Breakbulk Business Run (12 March) and the SIPG Port Tour (11 March).
During exhibition hall hours there will also be free and informative demonstrations on securing your project and traditional breakbulk cargo led by Cordstrap.  Since 1965, Cordstrap has been innovating high quality products for the secure transportation of precious cargo, while ensuring the safety of operators.
