A new network for independent air cargo general sales and service agents (GSSAs) has been launched at Air Cargo Europe.

The Port of Rotterdam Authority has launched ‘Navigate’ at the Transport Logistic Fair in Munich. The beta version of this online tool contains deep-sea and short-sea schedules connecting to 550 ports worldwide, as well as rail and barge connections between Rotterdam and more than 150 European inland terminals. “This makes Navigate the most comprehensive route planner of its kind, enabling users to find an efficient route from A to B via Rotterdam in just a few mouse clicks”, says Emile Hoogsteden, Director Containers, Breakbulk & Logistics of the Port of Rotterdam Authority.

Etihad Airways and Jettainer are extending their cooperation until 2021. The leading international service partner for outsourced ULD management will continue to manage and maintain the container fleet of the United Arab Emirates’ national airline during the next five years. The introduction of intelligent containers, so-called smart ULDs, is also planned for this time frame. Smart ULDs autonomously inform about the containers’ position, temperature or maintenance status.
