From 6 to 7 September, the wind from the sea blew towards the logistics for the ACEX conference participants. The event brought together logisticians from all over the world on a cruise ferry on the route Helsinki-Tallinn-Helsinki.

The Department for Transport (DfT), in partnership with ABP's Port of Southampton, today launches the UK's first Port Economic Partnership (PEP), an innovative initiative to create stronger links between ports and Government, to maximise long-term trade and economic growth. This, they say, is indicative of both a more “optimistic” industry climate, and the impact of the event week’s move to embrace a broader industry perspective as ‘Your Arena for Ocean Solutions’.

On September 5th, 2019 State Enterprise “Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority” and the Kernel Company signed an agreement on cooperation providing for investments in the development of the infrastructure in the port of Chornomorsk amounting to over UAH 3 billion. By the end of 2020, dredging near the four berths is expected to be carried out in the port and a new grain terminal to be built to increase transshipment volumes up to 6 million tons.

On September 11-12, 2019, in Kaliningrad, the 11th International Baltic Transport Forum will bring together representatives of the professional community from ten countries.

The Port of Rotterdam Authority has reached an agreement with Sif Holding n.v. regarding the lease of a 20 hectares of port site and a 200-meter stretch of deep-sea quay at Maasvlakte. Sif’s new lot lies adjacent to its existing port site, where the company already works on the assembly of foundations for offshore wind turbines.
