The eighth edition of the Transport Week, one of the industry’s most well established events, returns to Gdansk, Poland, on 6-8/3/2018. Once again the conference will gather key stakeholders from all around the transport and logistics industry. The participants are going to examine current and upcoming port infrastructure development projects in Poland and Europe and take a trip down the New Silk Road.
Each year the event gathers hundreds of highly engaged participants from a variety of industries, among them port and terminal authorities, rail and logistic operators, forwarders, shipping lines representatives, consulting companies, government officials and policymakers.
For seven years straight, Transport Week has been the focal point of all discussions related to the transport and logistics sector in Central Europe.
The event will kick-off with a prelude, featuring a debate focused on the opportunities and challenges facing the development of infrastructure in the upcoming years up to 2030. Additionally, the conference participants will get the chance to enjoy some pre-event networking during the evening reception.
Day one will be all about recent and future port infrastructure projects. A port market forecast, examining the current situation as well as mistakes that should be avoided and solutions worth implementing, will set the stage for the day’s discussions.
Poland’s biggest ports – Gdańsk, Gdynia and Szczecin-Świnoujście, as well as some international guests including Rotterdam, Stockholm, Helsinki and Wilhelmshaven, will be invited to share their experiences with planning and financing. A discussion panel centered around the latter aspect of infrastructure development is set to round up their presentations and assure that all bases are covered.
A session dedicated to spatial planning, the coexistence of ports and cities and the impact of automation on port and terminal design is going to wrap up day one’s topical scope.
An exclusive networking cocktail held at the Olivia Sky Club in Gdansk will give the participants a chance to relax after a long conference day. The next edition of the Baltic Trendsetters Club Award Ceremony will be held during the evening.
The opportunities posed by China’s New Silk Road and One Belt One Road initiatives will be the focus of day two. Is the New Silk Road a welcome opportunity for the Baltic and European logistics sector? This is the question to be answered.

The conference will be held at the premises of the Polish Baltic Frédéric Chopin Philharmonic’s Music and Congress Centre.
