Kuehne + Nagel wins Lenovo’s 2016 “Logistics Excellence Award”

2017 05 17

The award granted at the annual Lenovo Supplier Conference in Hangzhou, China, honours Kuehne + Nagel’s consistently high performance and operational excellence for the international supply chain solution (ISC) into EMEA while offering added value and real-time visibility.
Kuehne + Nagel has been awarded for its management of Lenovo’s business into Europe, Middle East and Africa as well as into several countries in Asia and Latin America. Furthermore, a cross-docking facility handles all last-mile deliveries across Europe in a high security overland network while the inbound transports are based on ocean freight. The award is also related to Kuehne + Nagel’s involvement in managing goods arriving on rail containers from the destination terminal, ensuring efficient and fast customs clearance and delivery thus improving turnaround times and serviceability.
Kuehne + Nagel’s ISC solutions enables the entire order management process to be digitalized down to article level from origin to final destination of single shipments to the end customer. With this supply chain visibility and pro-active control, Kuehne + Nagel meets the highest standards and customer requirements, also in challenging situations or during shipment peaks.
Gareth Davies, Global Director of Logistics at Lenovo says: “Kuehne + Nagel has consistently demonstrated their dedication to service and innovation, core values at the heart of Lenovo’s culture. They are delivering high quality solutions and working with us to ensure that our customers continue to receive great products, on time, every time. This award recognises both the operational execution and the innovation behind the solutions.”

Thorsten Meincke, Senior Vice President Global Sea Logistics at Kuehne + Nagel says: “We are honoured to have received this prestigious award. It gives proof of our commitment to provide our customers with tailor-made and innovative solutions that support the optimisation of their supply chains. In addition, using cutting-edge IT systems, Kuehne + Nagel is able to add an outstanding level of transparency to the logistics processes.”
